Secondary structures of DNA.
In view of the differences of the X-ray diffraction patterns for DNA fibers at 66 and 92 per cent relative humidities, it is proposed that the secondary structure of DNA consists of two partially intercalated double helices at 92 per cent. Possible biological implications are discussed.
متن کاملA Review of Structure Construction of Silk Fibroin Biomaterials from Single Structures to Multi-Level Structures
The biological performance of artificial biomaterials is closely related to their structure characteristics. Cell adhesion, migration, proliferation, and differentiation are all strongly affected by the different scale structures of biomaterials. Silk fibroin (SF), extracted mainly from silkworms, has become a popular biomaterial due to its excellent biocompatibility, exceptional mechanical pro...
متن کاملPhysicochemical Position-Dependent Properties in the Protein Secondary Structures
Background: Establishing theories for designing arbitrary protein structures is complicated and depends on understanding the principles for protein folding, which is affected by applied features. Computer algorithms can reach high precision and stability in computationally designing enzymes and binders by applying informative features obtained from natural structures. Methods: In this study, a ...
متن کاملRecycling Secondary Index Structures
Many database reorganization techniques move tuples in a table from one location to another in a single pass. For example, distributed database systems move or copy tables between sites to optimize data placement. However, such systems typically drop and then rebuild the secondary indices defined over the table being moved. There are two primary reasons for this. First, moving a table invalidat...
متن کاملRNA Secondary Structures
The central dogma of molecular biology states that the flow of information is from DNA, through RNA, to proteins. What this means is that DNA is the storage medium of genomic information, while proteins are the molecules with functional and structural rôles. In this view, RNA is mostly considered a ‘supporting actor’, being the medium used for transporting information from storage to where it i...
